About 20 minutes by foot from the hotel is the imposing Bothmer castle, on the outskirts of Klutz. It was built between 1726 to 1732 by Count Hans Caspar von Bothmer. Today it is a beautiful stately home set in 7 hectares of parkland, surrounded by a moat where swans and wildfowl make their homes. Partialy Barock in style, the Schloss is really worth a visit and features a front entrance designed by the architect who made the plans for 10 Downing St, in London.
